Climate change is the greatest threat to life on our planet. For the first time in history more than 50 per cent of the world's population is living in cities. Cities are responsible for emitting 80 per cent of the world's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. ¹ Cities are, therefore, the primary cause of climate change, are at high risk from climate change and have a vested interest in tackling it.
