the Kyoto Protocol by 8 per cent from 1990 levels during 2008-2012. The goal of the CO2 law is to reduce CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion by 10 per cent from 1990 levels during the same period. The law further specifies that emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels for heat and power production (industry, commerce and households) shall be reduced by 15 per cent and emissions from the combustion of automotive fuels (transport sector) must be cut by 8 per cent.
