Drought, population pressures, and conflict are degrading lands and undermining the resilience of ecosystems. Severe drought across many parts of Sudan is affecting several million people, many of whom are at acute risk of food insecurity. Low and sporadic rainfall has severely affected water resources and agricultural production, particularly in the traditional rainfed sector. ¹
