ABSTRACT

This book is an outcome of the conference ‘Water: Economics, Policy, Politics and Agricultural Celebration’ held in Zaragoza (Spain) at the beginning of the International Expo ZH2O ‘Water and Sustainable Development’ in 2008. 1 Two important questions examined in the conference were non-point pollution and irrigation technologies for water conservation. The book describes experiences from several countries that highlight both achievements and failures in dealing with pollution and irrigation issues. These topics are presented here taking into account the institutional, policy and technological circumstances in different countries and regions.
