ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter we discussed the structure of classifications in terms of the levels of taxonomy and the criteria used for their diagnostics. An alternative approach to a basic definitional structure of a classification involves mathematical modelling using topology, fractal theory and some other instruments. Before analysing such structures of hierarchical classifications some basic principles of graph theory will be explained.
