ABSTRACT
This chapter was inspired by a three-day exploration into measurement and its impact on development practice. Fourteen development practitioners from different parts of the world, fulfilling different functions in the development sector, participated in the process. What brought us together is a commitment to building a development practice that has the best chance of countering the societal forces that exclude, marginalize and undermine people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential.
