ABSTRACT
In addressing the issue of how science can relate to policy – with special regard to issues of vulnerability and resilience in a global environmental change context – the earlier chapters in this book have moved between these two poles, on the one side the vulnerability/resilience thematics, and on the other, the science/policy interface in general. In the many chapters these discussions have, in addition, also moved between the poles of generalities and specific examples.
