ABSTRACT

Globalization can be defined as the coming and going of things, capital, people and information around the world at speeds that were unthinkable before. It also means that local systems, customs and habits are gradually being weeded out as global standards are adopted. As an example, we can look at the effect that global environmentalism has had on various regions of the world since the concept became popular in the 1970s, with slogans such as ‘Only one Earth’ and ‘Earth the spaceship’.
