ABSTRACT
The waters of the United Kingdom have seen much marine spatial planning activity in the first decade of the new millennium. Now the recent passing of various bits of enabling legislation paves the way for the UK to move from somewhat vague marine planing to actual ocean zoning. Authorities are currently working up maps with attendant regulations to better manage a spate of activities in UK maritime waters, as well as on the coast.
