ABSTRACT

Nowadays, the international situation has continually undergone complex and profound changes while a great turn has taken place in both China and Europe. The rapid progress of information technology of the Internet has led to tremendous changes in global economic and social development. Cyberspace has become a new space for human life, while advocating for multilateral governance through existing international cooperation. The transformation of the communication industry, as well as the continuous breakthrough of smart terminals, will bring profound changes to international society. Both China and the EU have realized that the digital economy is gradually becoming a huge and potential market with a broad space for cooperation, particularly in recovering from the COVID-19 crisis for years to come. Therefore, China and the EU have respectively introduced national strategies and industrial policies of the digital economy, which has brought valuable opportunities for China–EU cooperation. This paper analyzes the status quo, opportunities, and prospects of China–EU digital economic cooperation, which are beneficial to promote digital economic connectivity between the two sides.
