ABSTRACT

The chapter explores destination ecosystem services in a post-pandemic context. The literature on ecosystem services as it applies to tourism is reviewed and an analysis of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the industry is discussed. A multi-method approach to data collection including literature review, observation and case study analysis results in an all-inclusive tourism ecosystem bubble is being proposed. The consumption of this resort context by the leisure-casual consumer is presented as a sustainable option. Thus, the chapter subsequently reviews ecosystem services theory in its application of measures and recommendations that develop sustainability in tourism destinations.
