ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides some practical solutions regarding the management and restoration of tourism ecosystem services in some countries such as India, Kenya, Poland, Argentina, China, and South Africa. As travel restarts in some parts of the world, poorly managed tourism ecosystem services, misinformation about the pandemic and its unknown evolution, and weaker consumer confidence continue to plague the global tourism industry. The COVID-19 pandemic and its allies have presented an unprecedented opportunity to reconsider the management of tourism ecosystem services. The book also presents the assessment of their vulnerabilities in the face of the ongoing pandemic, management and restoration of natural and cultural ecosystem services, sustainability of the tourism ecosystem services, and future trends affecting tourism ecosystem services.
