ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the book and explaining the use of ‘masala’ in the title of the volume. It also provides the history of the provenance of the project and its development. An introduction to ‘diversity’ in India is presented and the role of identity in Indian society and politics. The chapter concludes with a commentary on all the chapters in the book picking out the main themes and the organization of the volume and invites future work on a creating and show casing diversity in Indian biblical studies.
