ABSTRACT

Co-facilitated supervision offers the opportunity for supervisors to complement each other's style, explore the learning from working with difference, and role model trust and vulnerability. The supervisors work together to role model the value of working with different perspectives and backgrounds. The goal is to support the coach, offer options, raise their awareness and confidence, and exchange knowledge, experience, and different perspectives. Clare has brought a client case to the group. Maggie asks Clare to “bring her client ‘into the room’” by describing how the client presents themselves and to set the scene. Latisha's employer is very supportive and engaged Clare to coach Latisha to develop interpersonal relationships and trust to delegate to the team. The supervisors then ask the group members to give one word of appreciation to Clare and one piece of their own insight.
