ABSTRACT

This case study explores the discussions held in a group coaching supervision session, when one of the coaches asked the group to support him in preparation for an upcoming alignment meeting with client and sponsor. Mark was hired by an institution with close to 1,000 employees, which is financed partially by the state and partly by the private sector, to produce and deliver public interest content. Mark then reports a recent follow-up meeting with Joyce on the coaching engagements with Mary and John. The coaches in the group ask questions which range from different aspects of the coaching agreements with the sponsor and individual clients, to exploring Mark's emotions and reactions. The group goes on categorising the several hats they see. Some of them are visibly compatible with Mark's expected roles, such as coach, account manager and project manager.
