ABSTRACT

Breaches of healthcare-related data have shown an upward trend for over a decade. Ransomware attacks have some variation but largely involve the immobilisation of systems, blackmail and potential data exfiltration and leakage. Cyberattacks put our client data at risk, and can lead to reputational damage, financial loss, legal cases and emotional and mental health impacts from being the victim of cybercrime. The digital platform has known about the attack and subsequent breach for a month; however, it is only disclosing it now after it was revealed on social media. The coach is not sure how to deal with the situation, how they should be involved or where they should start.
