ABSTRACT
After a break of several years, energy efficiency returns to be an issue of scientific and political discussion. In contrast to the seventies, the new meaning energy efficiency has gained recently, cannot be reduced to the impulse of energy prices. Crude oil prices are on the same level as ten years ago in nominal terms. In real terms, there has even been a price reduction.
