ABSTRACT

This paper presents development of PLS-SEM path model which demonstrates graphical relationships of success factors for SME contractors. The model consisted of 33 success factors which are clustered into 5 independent variables and one dependent variable. Data used for this model were from questionnaire survey amongst 100 SME contractors. The model was constructed and assessed rigorously at measurement and structural components levels. At measurement level, the model has achieved the required threshold values. At structural level, it was found that the model has substantial explaining power to represent groups of success factor to the SME contractors and also the resources related group is having the highest impact value of 0.299 which means giving the strongest influential success factors to SME contractors. This model will benefit the contractors’ community in sustaining their success in competitive construction industry.
