ABSTRACT

In this research study, mechanical and sustainability properties of well cement mixed with natural pozzolan are presented. Well cement’s properties in chloride environments are improved by replacing 10% of cement with natural pozzolan of 9600 cm2/g of fineness. Reduction of water absorption, chlorine ion penetration and oxygen permeability in test specimens put in evidence that the natural pozzolan is convenient for the oil well cement as well as for the mortar cements for oil and gas industry, where, their mechanical properties and sustainability are improved. On the basis of experimental results, it is concluded that the special oil well cement contributes to a sustainable development of drilling oil and gas wells.
