ABSTRACT

This final chapter summarizes the preceding contributions to the volume and discusses the importance of women as heads of state, representatives in parliaments, ministers, and in public service, globally. It discusses how women’s representation in all aspects of public life—as ministers, in parliaments, and as heads of state—is critical to eliminating gender gaps and fostering equality across diverse cultures and contexts. The chapter’s empirical analysis confirms the importance of women in public administration to mitigate gender inequality, worldwide.
