ABSTRACT

Shanghai is the earliest area in China that has entered an aging population and is currently threatened by aging. This article will use the relevant time series data from 2002 to 2018, and use the structural vector autoregressive model (SVAR) to analyze the relationship between population aging and consumption expenditure. The results of the study show that the aging population has a significant impact on the consumption expenditure of urban residents in the short term, but not in the long term. In view of the impact of the aging problem on residents, this article will also provide some feasible method.
