ABSTRACT

A mine on the Reef. The compound room of John and Hamilton. There are two beds which are really blankets folded as neatly as possible on the floor. Near the head of each bed is a wooden beer-box on its side which serves as a chair. Near John’s bed is a ‘Space-Gram’—a battery-operated radiogram with an aerial and a removable turntable. There are records and record-covers strewn about, as well as cartons of beer.
