ABSTRACT
Many fundamental problems of applied sciences and engineering are formulated naturally as eigenvalue problems. In general terms, an eigenvalue equation is a homogeneous operator or matrix equation, featuring a parameter, whose admissible values-the eigenvalues-need to be determined simultaneously with the corresponding solutions, termed eigenvectors or eigenfunctions.
