ABSTRACT
Ferrets are frequently presented in a critical state. It is important in these cases to be as prepared as possible before the animal’s arrival and to have suf- cient facilities to accept the case. For non-specialised practices, an understanding is needed of how to stabilise a critical ferret and then where to refer to for further investigation, treatment and hospitalisation (Fig. 11.1).
