ABSTRACT

The concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) has received several definitions over the last few decades. There are several views and definitions of EI, given its breadth and complexity. Much has been said about the nature of EI, but many arguments have not yet been duly substantiated. It is clear that the research is based on an evolving EI construct that requires more rigorous studies. Nevertheless, EI’s origins lie in a century of research in the fields of Psychology, Sociology, Human Development and other disciplines.
