ABSTRACT

This Chapter presents a conceptual model that represents an interpretation of effective practice in a blended learning context, which summarises a number of key themes raised within the book. The model is underpinned by a number of factors, associated with learners' views of effective practice, which can support e-tutors who are delivering units of study within higher education for adult learners. The Chapter then discusses the importance of tutor/learner relationships in online and blended learning, the synergies identified between the key theorisations analysed within the book, and briefly considers the future of emotionally intelligent tutoring.
