ABSTRACT
This chapter records an email exchange between two founders and also members of the first Board of the Institute for Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Education (EOE) in 1996. Steve Bowles’s state of health has not allowed him to write a longer contribution. However, since it was felt that the book would benefit from a narrative of his many years of experience, commitment and expertise in outdoor education, Peter Becker conducted an email conversation with him.
