ABSTRACT
The new National Curriculum for English has only three Attainment Targets: Speaking and Listening, Reading, and Writing, in place of the original five. This has been achieved through combining the original Attainment Targets: Writing, Spelling and Handwriting, so that spelling and handwriting are incorporated into Writing.
