ABSTRACT
In modern conditions of Russia’s accession to the WTO, the actual task is to ensure the sustainable development of the regional economy.
It requires the study of concept and entity of sustainable development of the regional economy, and of the conditions and factors of its ensuring. It is no less important to study the relationship between the sustainable development of the regional economy and the economic stability of its systems within the framework of the mechanism of regional economic development, the source of which is the production of the Gross Regional Product (GRP).
