ABSTRACT

The tables recording higher degrees earned by Bryn Mawr’s undergraduates were designed to function as a flow chart, showing where the alumnae did their academic work as well as which degrees they earned. Many alumnae found it difficult to recall figures on paid jobs held during their undergraduate terms. The percentages of former undergraduates who married have increased steadily through the decades, classes 1946–1950 recording both the highest percentages ever married and the highest rate of divorce. Alumnae of the Undergraduate College most often related their choice of Bryn Mawr to characteristics of the College, particularly its general excellence in academic training. Eighty-one percent of all alumnae of the Undergraduate College expressed satisfaction with their Bryn Mawr experience in respect to intellectual development, the aspect of Bryn Mawr training approved by highest percentages in every decade. Younger alumnae groups more often indicated plans for something other than what they were doing.
