ABSTRACT

Firm and entrepreneur performance needs to be monitored. Entrepreneurial performance is a subjective concept, depending on the personal expectations, aspirations and skills of the individual entrepreneur. Measuring entrepreneurial performance is a challenging task (Davidsson et al., 2006). Entrepreneurial performance can be assessed relating to all firms currently owned (i.e., minority and/or majority ownership stakes) by a portfolio entrepreneur (Rosa, 1998). ‘Entrepreneurial career performance’ relating to serial and portfolio entrepreneurs can also be assesses with regard the number and proportion of successful new enterprise processes or the total net worth created (Davidsson and Wiklund, 2001; Parker, 2013).
