This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in this book. The book describes that to what extent India achieved development since independence in multiple intersecting areas of international and human security. The globalisation process in India ran parallel to a growth in the participation of vernacular society in democratic politics and the market economy. This has resulted in the glocalisation of Indian society, where both the globalisation of everyday life and the localisation of identity ties and politics take place at the same time. The new notion of security in the glocal risk society lies at the intersection between the expanding fields of international and human security. The book describes that in order to deal with the new question of expanding risk and security, besides improving the governance of power and capital, it is vital to further promote capability, agency, and human capital among diverse sections of society through state-supported and human-centred forms of development.
