ABSTRACT

Over the past couple of years, a number of us have been challenged by the federal government’s growing involvement in the lead-based-paint area. In 1992 the level of activities exploded with involvement in a number of major across-government and private-sector activities, all geared toward protecting children from lead poisoning. At EPA we have had many reasons to feel good about what we, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT), are doing to address lead poisoning in children.
