ABSTRACT

The paper deals with the analysis of the results obtained with the use of the boundary element method (BEM) for numerical-and-analytical solution of the problem concerning the impression of the cone into an elastic half-space. Systemization of the calculation data makes it possible to theoretically substantiate the method of defining the soil deformation modulus using the results of the impression of the deepened different-angled cones. The dependences proposed have a great generality as compared with the formulae used in conventional testing the punches with flat bottom by a static load. They are necessary for developing the technique for industrial soil tests using the deepened conic punches.
