ABSTRACT

The Ohme tunnel is a large scale tunnel at a shallow depth in an unconsolidated ground in urban area. Horizontal jet grouting is used as a subsidence countermeasure. The effect of horizontal jet grouting is verified by field measurement, in-situ tests and finite element analyses. The difference of subsidence of the ground by field measurement between the section which adopts a horizontal jet grouting and those which does not adopt one become 20mm. Then, it is confirmed by the nonlinear back analysis considering the anisotropic damage that the ground around the tunnel maintains an elastic state. As the results of the above, this paper shows the horizontal jet grouting is very effective in the subsidence control of ground for tunnel excavation.
