This chapter will explain the evolution of Cultural Intelligence (CQ), starting with a definition of intelligence, social intelligence and emotional intelligence. Subsequently, and in a more detailed way, we will talk about CQ, its profiles and its main characteristics, ending with an approach to recent developments. It turns out that a culturally intelligent individual is more effective and more successful in transcultural settings, as well as displays/shows better performance and adaptability.
