ABSTRACT
Since the Bolshevik Revolution and the Communists’ appeal to the Muslims to rise up against Western (British) imperialism, Islam has played a large role in shaping Russia’s relations with the West. Both have used Islam to undermine each other’s position and win the Muslims to their side.
