ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a brief history of e-learning standards, describing how they came into being and are progressing along the path to accreditation. The standards that we have today are the result of the work of a number of standards bodies. We will meet the key players and explore the relationship between the various standards bodies. Finally we will take a look at likely future directions for the standards and discuss what you can do to keep upto-date with further developments.
