ABSTRACT
The phase diagram of the aluminum-lithium-magnesium system covering alloy 1420 is described in [30,139,145]. In [30], the liquidus surface is provided, including nine fields of primary crystallization. The ternary compound is detected in the system having the most probable formula Al2MgLi (S) with an appropriate primary crystallization field. The Al2MgLi compound melts with decomposition at 527°C.
