ABSTRACT
Through analyzing a selection of the Iranian travellers’ reports on European freedoms in the nineteenth century, this chapter has two objectives: (1) to explore the expansion of sociopolitical conceptions of freedom in the Persian logosphere and everyday language; and (2) to illustrate the application of MacCallum’s triadic frame of analysis to better understand the locutions of freedom.
