ABSTRACT
We fitted a second simple equation in which the feedrate (z) was the independent variable. Whilst this new equation had a lower percentage fit ( 61% compared with 72%) and consequently even wider confidence intervals, it might nonetheless be more attractive to the plant manager on economic grounds. Perhaps it would be cheaper to increase the feedrate than to increase the weight of special ingredient in each batch.
