ABSTRACT
At present, most of the mechanics of materials teaching has not got rid of the traditional teaching methods, which exists despite the disadvantages of indoctrination. Therefore, it is necessary to speed up the process of the “gold course” of material mechanics. To this, we can start from two aspects: One is the reform of teaching mode, and the another is reform of teaching content. This article puts forward the teaching mode of four-level thinking to cultivate students’ four abilities. Meanwhile, we expound on the reform methods of teaching contents from three aspects: using artificial intelligence to individualize teaching; introducing case base, and integration of ideological and political education. Finally, the gold course system of material mechanics for application-oriented undergraduate civil engineering major has been established.
