ABSTRACT

I.2 Coaxial cable consists of a cylindrical wire concentric with a thin cylindrical conducting shell. The radius of the inner wire is Ri; the shell Ro. The current used to drive some device or to carry a signal from one piece of equipment to another passes along the inner wire and returns along the outer shell, completing the circuit. We suppose that the current, I, flows along the wire’s outer surface, and that both surface currents are uniformly distributed.
