ABSTRACT
Fazal Rizvi maintains that globalization cannot be fully understood without considering it in historical terms. His historical understanding of globalization is informed by his upbringing in India, and is also considered in broader terms. Growing up in India meant that Rizvi experienced the effects of colonialism first-hand. Indeed, his very conceptualization of globalization is that it is an ‘outcome of certain colonial practices’.
