ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at the levels of involvement of the children. It considers what the role of the adults has been in order for the events to come about and remember that this deep involvement means that the child is learning and developing in this moment – new learning is happening and resilience is growing – and that learning and resilience will allow the child to develop further at the next moment, the next hour, the next day, the next week or the next year. The ‘peer to peer’ learning has been evident in all the examples given – the reading, the BOX, and the role play. The important aspect of development is that they are learning that each child and each family is different: “Other families do things in their way and it is different to the way the author family do things.”
