ABSTRACT

Chapter 13 explores some of the new social movements, considering what might drive them to exercise characteristics of Integrative Governance. These examples demonstrate that this approach to governance is not utopian, but rather a living, prefigurative practice that is growing in this moment of transition and transformational change. The chapter closes with a cursory analysis of a case study drawn from the food sovereignty movement. This case analysis demonstrates how collaborative governance network studies might be approached using Integrative Governance as a comparative measure.
