ABSTRACT

Provisional restoration is used in fixed prosthodontics to enhance aesthetics and/or function for a limited period of time. It should be replaced by a definitive dental prosthesis. A Polyethyl Methacrylate (PEMA) and a Bis-acrylic resin were selected as test materials in this study. Specimens were divided into eight groups. The roughness of surface was verified in a Hommel Tester T1000 rugosimeter, before and after different techniques of finishing and polishing. Not all measurements were performed, so this study is not yet complete.
