ABSTRACT
The jamb on each side of the fireplace recess ‘a’ to be not less than 200mm thick (L3). If the recess is on an internal wall the back ‘b’ must be not less than 200mm thick, if on a cavity wall each leaf must be not less than 100mm thick and any such thickness must extend the full height of the recess.
