ABSTRACT
In this Monster Mutation, the author uses Latour’s idea of creating monsters to explore the intended and unintended consequences of summer slide over three different choose-your-own-journey vignettes. Each vignette digs into the ways the literacy monster of summer slide produces people, places, and things and suggests that paying attention to these consequences is part of an ethical literacy practice.
