ABSTRACT
Genre is perhaps the most misunderstood of narrative tools. In this chapter my goal is to set out my own views on one particular genre, but also to disabuse the reader about the misleading mythologies surrounding genre in general. By doing so I hope to clarify how flexible and useful genre can be in the writing of a screenplay.
